After the Last Quarry Park Concert, Rocklin's Winter Runs on Saturday Mornings

The Quarry Park Amphitheater's published calendar ends this week. The Psychedelic Furs play tonight, Thursday, October 29, with doors at 6:00 p.m. and the show at 7:00. Y&T's Halloween Bash follows Friday, October 30, on the same schedule. After that, the Quarry Park concert calendar lists nothing.

The park itself stays open. Through November and December it moves from evenings to mornings, and the main event is the Rocklin Community Farmers Market. The market is only five months old, so this is its first winter.

The Saturday Market Rocklin Didn't Have a Year Ago

Living Smart Farmers Market opened the Rocklin Community Farmers Market on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Gold Mountain California News described it as a new year-round certified farmers market. It wasn't a move from somewhere else. It's Living Smart's newest market after Roseville, Citrus Heights and Folsom.

The City of Rocklin's market listing gives the basics:

  • When: Every Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., year-round, rain or shine
  • Where: Quarry Park Adventures parking lot, 5373 Pacific Street
  • Size: Up to 80 vendors, with live music, kids' activities and free parking
  • Run by: Living Smart, a local nonprofit that uses the market to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship and business skills to young people and families

The launch announcement listed seasonal produce, eggs, local honey, mushrooms, microgreens, baked goods and handmade products. It also mentioned a food court with hot food stands, food trucks and drinks. Founder Marie Hall told Gold Mountain California News that "Rocklin is a growing city that deserves a vibrant Saturday market experience the whole community can enjoy." Hall founded Living Smart's market program with Don Hall in 2008.

So far the market has only seen late spring, summer and fall. November and December will be the first time it runs in short days and cold mornings. The city lists it every Saturday through the end of the year, including November 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and December 26, the day after Christmas.

One practical note on hours. The City and the operator's Rocklin page both say the market opens at 8 a.m., but a separate Living Smart-branded site shows 9 a.m. If you're planning to come early for eggs or microgreens, check the market's page first.

The Adventure Park Keeps Its Weekend Schedule

The market sits in the parking lot of Quarry Park Adventures, and the adventure park doesn't close for the season either. Its hours page says it's open all year on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, plus select holiday breaks, and it closes every year on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Book ahead in this season. Quarry Park Adventures says reservations are required to guarantee a spot. Walk-ups are taken only when space allows, and the schedule is usually set 24 hours in advance. Closing times depend on that day's bookings. The park asks guests to call 916-824-1680 before visiting.

That means a Saturday at Quarry Park this winter can start at the market at 8 and move to a booked adventure time once the market winds down, with both in the same lot.

The Weekday Exception at Clover Valley

Rocklin's best November outing that isn't on a Saturday is in Clover Valley. Placer Land Trust and the Sierra Foothills Audubon Society are holding a Veterans Day Bird Stroll at Clover Valley Preserve on Wednesday, November 11, at 8:30 a.m. Placer Land Trust calls the preserve "one of Placer Land Trust's newest protected preserves, a gem in the middle of Rocklin." Docents lead the walk past a year-round creek, wetlands, beaver-dammed ponds and open meadows.

Before you sign up:

  • About 2.5 miles of easy walking with no significant elevation change, finishing around 11:30 a.m.
  • No restrooms or water on the property, and hiking poles are recommended for the stream banks
  • Limited to 12 people, registration required
  • No dogs except service animals
  • Free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person or $25 per family

With only 12 spots, it will likely fill well before the date.

December 5 Fills the Whole Day at Quarry Park

On the first Saturday of December, both of the park's shifts happen on the same day. The farmers market runs its usual 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce holds its free Rocklin Tree Lighting at Quarry Park, 4000 Rocklin Road, rain or shine.

The Chamber's event page gives this schedule:

  1. 4:00 p.m. Holiday Market, food trucks and kids' activities open
  2. 4:30 p.m. Santa arrives and performances begin
  3. 6:30 p.m. Santa line ends, and it may close earlier if the line is long
  4. 6:45 p.m. Tree lighting

The Chamber's own listings disagree on the time. The event page says 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and the registration listing says 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Plan around the event page, but check with the Chamber before you go.

The holiday market includes Junior Creator vendors, who are young sellers ages 10 to 17. The Chamber is also collecting socks for men, women, teens, children and infants in a giant stocking. Bring them to the event or drop them off at the Chamber office by December 10.

Between the morning market and the evening lighting, December 5 is the one day this season when Quarry Park is busy from 8 a.m. until after dark.

Nights Return on December 18

The adventure park's December evening is the Cozy Climb on Friday, December 18. The Quarry Park Adventures night climbs page lists holiday lights, festive music, free hot cocoa and a candy cane bar, along with access to all six Quarry adventures, for $69 per person. A ticket covers three hours after dark: a 30-minute gear-up and orientation, then 2.5 hours of adventure. The page still shows a promo graphic from 2025, but the text gives the 2026 date.

The booking page lists start times of 6:00, 6:20, 6:40 and 7:00 p.m.

Families with kids home over the break have one more option. Quarry Park Adventures' 2026 Winter Camp is for ages 8 to 15 and runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 21 to 24 and December 28 through January 1, 2027. It costs $119 per day if you book through December 1 and $129 per day after that, so there's a reason to book early.

Weekday camp in the last two weeks of December, plus the December 26 market the day after the Christmas closure, keeps something running at Quarry Park almost every day until the new year.
